Korea Aviation Engineering & Maintenance Service (KAEMS), a specialized aircraft maintenance company, officially launched on June 14. On June 14, 2018, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the parent company of KAEMS, held a general meeting of promoters at the Sacheon KAI Aviation Center in Gyeongsangnam-do. The largest shareholder is the aerospace industry and the second largest shareholder is Korea Airports Corporation. Hizeaero also participated as a shareholder, with BNK Financial Group, Atech, as well as local budget carriers Jeju Air, and Eastar Jet. KAEMS will start its maintenance business on low-cost airline aircraft and plan to expand its volume to domestic and international airlines. Jae-won Kim, president of KAI, said, "We will grow into a specialized aircraft maintenance company representing Korea with the mission of responsibility for the safety of domestic civil aircraft." As one of the first shareholders, Hizeaero will contribute to creating jobs in MRO business in Korea and will contribute to enhancement of expertise and capability in the aviation maintenance field
